On Sunday 13 February, composer Alberto Iglesias won the Goya Award 2011 for Best Original Score for the soundtrack to Icíar Bollaín´s film También la lluvia” (Even the Rain) beating Roque Baños (Sad ballad trumpet), Gustavo Santaolalla (Biutiful) and Victor Reyes (Buried) to the prize.
This is the ninth time that Iglesias has won the coveted Goya, having received the award in previous years for Back (2006), Talk to Her (2007), Sex and Lucia (2001), Todo sobre mi madre (1999), Lovers of the Arctic Circle (1998), Earth (1996), The Red Squirrel, (1993) and Broken Embraces (2009)
