A specialist publishing house, Edition Egtved, caters for a wide market for choral music that exists in Denmark and the Nordic countries in general while our Finnish division, Jasemusiikki, takes care of local needs.
In addition we represent the most important Nordic composers, including Grieg, Sibelius and Carl Nielsen, as well as contemporary figures like Per Nørgård, Arne Nordheim, Poul Ruders, Hans Abrahamsen, Jouni Kaipainen, Bent Sørensen, Anders Nordentoft, Niels Rosing-Schow, Randall Meyers, Anders Koppel, Karsten Fundal and Peter Bruun.
The annual Edition Wilhelm Hansen Composer’s Prize, established in 1994, supports original composition in Denmark.
An alliance with several Danish opera houses has resulted in a number of opera commissions that have had international impact: Per Nørgård’s Nuit des Hommes and Poul Ruders’ The Handmaid’s Tale were followed later by Bent Sørensen’s Under The Sky and Poul Ruders’ Kafka's Trial, both written for the Royal Theatre in Copenhagen.
We also have an impressive popular catalogue including traditional light music and jazz to present-day singer/songwriters and represent many leading composers of Danish film scores and stage revues.
