Première Music Group was founded in April 1992 and has since acquired more than 15,000 active French copyrights, making it the biggest independent music publisher in France.
Some of the Group’s most significant acquisitions include Les Editions Henri-Salvador, Les Editions Amour, Allo Music, Les Editions du Chiffre Neuf, X Music, Industrial Music, Mangas Music, Auguste Bosc, Martin Cayla and Les Editions Atalante.
In 2006 it acquired one of the oldest and most prestigious publishing houses in France, Les Editions Choudens. This leading classical music publishing and film rights group controls the rights of many famous classical composers such as Berlioz, Bizet, Gounod, Offenbach, Messager, Landowski and Dutilleux.
It also represents many renowned composers of film music such as Michel Legrand, Vincent Scotto, Maurice Jarre, Georges Auric, Joseph Kosma and Arthur Honnegger.
Première Music Group also publishes songs by Claude Nougaro, Boris Vian, Charles Trenet, Jacques Prévert, Boris Bergman, Didier Barbelivien, Alain Bashung, Brigitte Fontaine, Marie Paule Belle, Serge Gainsbourg, Jean Dréjac and Hubert Giraud among many others.
The company is highly successful in exploiting its copyrights for use in feature films and TV commercials.
